Norboy Kholjigitov is an active member of democratic movement of Uzbekistan; he was one of the first men who stood up for human rights straggle of its fellow-citizens. He was elected as chairman of “Human Rights Society of Uzbekistan” in Ishtikhansky region of Samarqand province. He wined respect and has grate authority among his citizens by his honesty and decency. He was fighter for Human Rights and participant in civil peaceful action for protest against corruption and voluntarism of the authority. For this active public work his family is exposed threats and persecutions. His son – Khaiot Kholjigitov – had kept under arrest more then 11 months without reason and legal basis.
In time of arrest of Norboy Kholjigitov by the forge case about 800 fellow-country-men stood on his defence and organized action of protest with demand of immediately release. The authority cruelly suppresses the protested fellow-country-men and brings the troops in this region. The Court where it was trial against Norboy Kholjigitov placed in some hundreds kilometres from the native his place, in town Kattaqurgan.
Now his fellow-country-men write down the appeals to President of Uzbekistan with request on forgiveness and release to Norboy Kholjigitov. It was wrote more then 60 letters in the name of president. The official representatives of local authority (Makhallia) wrote down positive recommendation related to Norboy Kholjigitov and ask to realise him.
Norboy Kholjigitov has nine children. And some of them are dependent in school age.
